Rejoice!

On this Third Sunday of Advent, we rejoice... the Lord is near!

The Lord, your God, is in your midst,

a mighty savior;

he will rejoice over you with gladness,

and renew you in his love,

he sings joyfully because of you... (Zep 3:17)

Oh, that the words of the prophet Zephaniah would settle deep in our hearts! We have reason to be joyful, cause for celebration: our mighty Savior is in our midst! He sees the state we're in, He knows every concern and trouble we face, and He has come to renew us in His love. Let us cast off every anxiety as we turn to the Lord with thanksgiving and praise. He is our joy, He is our peace, and He will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus!
